Here’s a video I put together of exhibits at the Seoul museum on Korea’s ingenious alphabet. Developed in the 15th century, characters are based on the anatomy of the mouth an throat as they form sounds. It was designed to be easy to learn. As the developers of the alphabet put it, “An intelligent person may acquire it in one morning, and even a simpleminded fellow can learn it in ten days.”
The video shows works from artists inspired by Hangul.
