While visiting Seattle’s Chinatown, home of many hole-in-the-wall restaurants, a few traditional markets, and service businesses and organizations for people of Asian heritage, I stumbled across this building with a nondescript exterior and was impressed when I stepped inside. Uwajimaya is an enormous store with an incredible selection of ethnic foods and housewares. It includes a food court and a branch of the Japanese Kinokuniya bookstore.
