Quick visit to Kansas City, Mo.

Now that snowboarding season is over I said goodbye to Denver and headed to Wisconsin. To break up the long drive I made a quick stop in Kansas City, Mo., my first visit here. After checking into my hotel last night, I got up early and started walking. My first stop was the Westport neighborhood.

A perfect depiction of gentrification in progress. The auto repair business on the lower level shares space with an art supply store and a millenial hipster escape room.
I believe this building was a bank at one time.
The motorcycle gas tanks are among the memorabilia at Filling Station Coffee that pay homage to old full service gas stations.
Markers along Main St. provide interesting little snippets of Kansas City history. Here we learn that 1980’s punks helped battle the scourge of folk music.

Throughout the neighborhoods I walked, I often saw stately apartment buildings like this.
