Dalmasa Temple was established in 1931 and some believe Seodalsan Mountain, where the temple is located, is connected to the historical arrival of Bodhidharma from India in the 5th or 6th century. The temple built a dormitory in 1959 to accommodate the monks staying there and has continued to expand with the addition of new buildings. The temple now functions as an urban mission and a center for various Buddhism-related academic activities.
